Yep, same here. My Lyman Permacenter 6x in mounted to a pristine 1978 vintage Ruger M77 in .243 Winchester. Those are very nice vintage scopes, some of my favorites.

I've got about 20 scopes on various rifles. All are vintage Redfields (4X mostly, but some variables), Weavers (4X mostly) and Leupolds (8X). All are good reliable scopes and bright enough for my daylight hunting and shooting.

I forgot, I also have 3 Lyman All Americans (3X and 4X) - another excellent scope make.

I have a Lyman 15x Super Targetspot scope that I use on my three early Model 52 Winchesters. I also have the original Lyman wood box the scope came in.

That is hugely cool.
Have had several Unertl's in the past, and one now; all external adjustment Target scopes.

I once had a Unertl 4x internal adjustment scope. It looked strange. IIRC, the tube is AL and the ends are steel. My tube had lost almost all the color while the ends were still blue.

Reflex264, I love your awesome Marlin rifles, especially that A from '52. Is it a 30-30 or 35? And what brand are those tip-up mount bases? I have never seen ring placement that far forward except on my own hand-made custom bases. I would love to get another SC one day, a pre-microgroove 35. I had a few back in the day but sold them to guys on the old Marlintalk forum. You probably know them as well.

I have an old Weaver V9 with AO (IIRC). It works fine. I'm trying to find a use for it.

Hey Big Redhead. This one is a .35. I knew I had to have it the first time I saw it. The old gentleman that bought it in 1952 decided he didn't like it and just put it away. It is nearly like it came out of a time capsule. He carried it to a gun shop in Arkansas and traded it a few years ago for some kind of bolt gun. The shop owners cousin saw it and had to have it.He knew I loved old Marlins and taunted me with it. After a couple of years of nagging it is now in one of my safes. It will shoot .75" groups all day long with the leverevolution ammo. The mounts and rings are Weaver Pivots. The newer Weaver bases position the scope all wrong. With the forward ring placement everything is perfect. I went on a mission to buy all of the brand new old ones I could find for Marlins. I am slowly switching them out on the older guns. I even have a set of 3/4" Pivots and a couple of mint condition J2.5s that are going on some kind of Marlin but I don't know which one yet. Yep I still love my old Marlins and I still miss Marlintalk. We had lots of fun over there till a few wrecked it for everybody. reflex264
