i have two M7s with Jewell triggers, but the trigger guard needs notched with a Dremel at the front of the trigger slot.
i ran a Timney on another, but that trigger needed ground/filed on the front lower corner (where the Jewell hit the trigger guard)

Toad on the Timney did you buy the trigger with or without safety. If without did you use your existing safety handle etc. with the Timney?

the M7 that i used the Timney trigger on, i also installed a Gentry M70 style safety, so i did not use a safety on the trigger assembly.

Shilen has revamped their trigger line. They are very good. I have a lot of Jewells, but on my hunting rifles, they will be Shilens. Butch

Marcus,
Remington triggers can usually be spiffed up to be really good, especially for a hunting rifle. I have a M7, I was figuring to do that with this one, but I haven't done it yet.

Jim I did have it adjusted but it has been very inconsistance on keeping the set poundage, so rather than deal with that I'll just purchase a aftermarket trigger and be done. One thing I hate is fighting with a trigger(heavy) doing load development.

Betting you can get a Shilen 700 trigger to work on a 7.
Shilen don't sale model 7 triggers. I have several M7's and xr-100's....., they take the same trigger as a M700. The jewell is hands down the best, the Shilen is great as well. one good and one horrible Rifle Basix. The Timney is a joke IMO I would rather have a worked over stock trigger than a POS Timney......but it is your rifle and you have a Timney on the way, good luck with that. RC

RC
When I called Shilen as per their triggers for the model 7 a tech there said they didn't make a trigger for the model 7. If I don't like the Timney then I won't use it, and I'll buy something else. IMO they are not as bad as you say I pulled my buddies on sunday and it's GLASS, so different strokes for different folks!!!

RC AWESOME trigger breaks over beautiful! ZERO creep and crisp at 1.5lbs. Next tests will be range time and field tested in Oklahoma, Kansas, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas and possible Colorado!

Did it fit well? I had my M7 trigger worked over and it is working ok for now. I'd like to know if there is an easy fix though if/when it goes bad.

Fit was QUICK and EASY! The tech rep at Timney said I had to purchase the 501(blue) which is the right hand without safety, because the 510 with safety would not fit the M7 due to being to wide. The 505(stainless) I did purchase had to use my existing safety and bolt stop, which was a breeze to put on and the fit was PERFECT!
