I was given a pair of Royal Crown 6x30 Binoculars. They appear to be a quality pair of Binoculars, even if I do have to adjust each eye separately. Came with a hard leather case thats red fabric lined. Seem like a nice old pair of Binoculars. I would like to know more about them, cant find nothing on the web. Anybody know the history and quality of these binoculars?

I had a pair like those once. We would fill them up for the football game, and then when empty look at the game. Funny thing was they hard to get in "focus". !!

This was only my attempt at a joke, of course. I just couldn't resist. Maybe someone else can help.

Most promotional pieces like this are not usually of very high quality, give-aways. Now if they are older Japanese made, then they may be useable.

Yes, they were made in Japan. Why did you say "promotional pieces like this"? Do you know something about the Royal Crown (Not Crown Royal,LOL) Binoculars? They look like they were made in the forties, although, I have no way of knowing. They're marked 6x30, field 7.5, no 60559. They don't appear cheap and have very good glass. I just wish you didn't have to adjust each eye separately. I personally like the middle wheel on my B&L.

Slide: Sorry about that, I guess I just can't get that Crown Royal whiskey thing out of my head. After WWII there were dozens of mfrs. of binoculars putting products out. Most of these would not be up to even the cheap models available today, as the coatings are so much better today. As a 6x30, you should not have to focus them often, so just enjoy them.
