I reckon it'll kill em out west here too DocRocket took a shot at a white tail doe with it during Antelope Armageddon 2011 last fall. I think the rear sight might have moved a notch or two, as he said it hit low and under her. I'm starting to do some bullet casting and eventually I want to cast for the 38-55. problem is the gear is a little spendy, so maybe one day I will. its a pleasure to shoot I just have a hard time reaching past my ruger 243 when it comes to going huntin

The ,.284 sort of fell into my lap about 5 years ago. I was talking to a fellow at the rifle range who mentioned he bought a number of guns from an estate. He was keeping the Colt revolvers for his collection but had one rifle he didn't know much about. Lo and behold it was a post-64 88 in .284. Looked like it just came out of the factory box. A little negotiating and it went home with me. It's very picky about bullet shapes and OAL length as far as feeding goes but when you find the sweet spot it works pretty well. I shoot Hornady Interlocks (140 gr) and stay a bit under the SAAMI OAL and it works well. Ron

Thank you everyone for the congrats on our anniversary. It's so hard to believe it's already been 20 years, time sure flies when your having fun. I can honestly say, without a doubt, that I'd do it all over again with Mr. Shaw. Threw the thick and thin, we've leaned on each other and stuck together, growing and learning and raising our family the best way we can. So funny how two kids made it this far even though some people didn't think we would. HA! Thanks again everyone. And Mr. Shaw...I love ya man and thank you for a wonderful 20 years, I'm looking forward to the next 20 years.

ND, might I suggest the perfect Valentine's Day gift for your beautiful lady-a magnum of champagne, a dozen red roses and a trip in your tracked conveyance to the Sta-Puff Marshmallow House for walleye fishing by candlelight. It's sweet, sincere, potentially rewarding (walleye fillets, you guys!) and does not threaten your man card. (Just tryin' to be helpful, don't ya know?) Ron,

20 years ago today a couple of kids stood together in a church. Pam and I, we took it very seriously, neither of us wanted to fail. We had family plans, both of us had goals to have children, raise children and live vicariously through them within the stability we hoped to provide for them. Those were big plans, lofty goals for a couple of kids. Well, we did it. Thanks Pam, for the best 20 years of my life. Congratulations, Man is she HOT

it comes with a membership to pheasants forever, I'm hoping to get a couple extra copies to send to my parents and grandparents. I'm guessing if you got a membership that they would send it out to you. The editor came out here and interviewed me and we spent a saturday going over what it is I do, taking pictures and stuff. it was pretty cool. That is really cool Ryan.

I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

Happy Aniversary Cussin's!! Gifts? Pam scored a couple of new lenses, the little guy shown on the camera here and the white lens on the left are both new. The little lens is a fixed 50mm F/1.4 with elect focus, the white one is a 70-300mm F/4-5.6 with elect focus and 2 different image stabilization settings. We went for dinner, came home, and she surprised me with.... Taurus 45 long colt/.410 shotgun. We definately surprised eachother. I guess we were both thinking something special was in order to mark 20 years. Weezy snapped this picture a few minutes ago. There we are, starting on another 20. Thanks for all the nice words, well wishes and such.

The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.
45/70,it's almost a religion.
If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.
