My 6.5-06 shoots them like that at 2875 fps. Only shot a mountain goat with them so far but DRT on it as I had hoped. It has been very accurate to long range for me.

Fotis,

That will do. If you want to try you may be able to squeeze a little more speed out of it with a slower powder. You may also loose the tight group, you won't know without trying. You could look to a powder as slow as US-869.

I feed my 264 the 130 grain Swift Scirocco II with 67 grains of Retumbo behind it.

My kids, (Stephie Anna) and I went today out to the ranch. Great time. I used my 300 RUM AWR and got a buck at 326 yards with 210 Bergers. DRT!
Stephan put a heck of a stalk on a nice buck. We had plenty of time so we took our time planning it out. We got into position and out came the Droid phone with Ballistic which is a great app. I lazered the goat at 277 and he did not know we were there. The phone said 1.4 moa so I dialed it in on the Leupy M-1 turrets. A second later he dropped the oat with a shot behind the shoulder. Boom, wack, DRT. Them bergers did great. Small hole going in and cice half dollar hole out the other side. Inside was soup with no meat damage. BTW Anna gutted the second buck with Stephan's help. Not bad for a 14 and 10 year old.

He did not die there. We drug him there to gut him and load him in the truck. However he was making a dash for the road which would put him in another hunting area. He stopped short of the road to take a last look at us. Yup was the last look.

I figured as much but couldn't pass on a little ribbing.

Good looking kids. Always great to see children in the field (with game no less) than sitting at home playing video games.

Congratulations on a great day.

Anyone got a line on where to get berger 140 hunting bullets?
Local stores have not had any in the last 4 months I have been watching and the usual net stores have them on back order.
I have a 28 inch krieger in 8.5 that would like to try them.

Been that way for a while, and months of backordered bullets ain't making me want to get to serious with them...

Suppose they wouldn't be the first smallish outfit to struggle or die from growing pains. Biggest challenge will be growing to meet demand and maintain acceptable QC. If they can't do that, a guy might as well stick with SMKs.

Maybe Berger is down to convert to hybrid ogives across the line?
