This was a special run federal did for an agency. I had a chance to buy some...which I did for my personal loading. But have decided to just move to 308. These perform better than the typical LEO bonded stuff out there like gold dot, partition, fed tactical bonded, tru etc. They are design to defeat the toughest barriers with minimal deflection but also give accuracy and terminal performance on soft targets. Also works great as a hunting round.

$31.50 per 100.

Trades: remington 700 parts stocks, bottom metal, barrels. 9mm 147gr HST ammo.

Discreet paypal or money order is fine. Add 1.5% on non gift paypals. Shipping $6 for 100-500. $11 for 500 -1000.

$31.50/100 ????? whatcha smokin ?
60 gr Hornady TNTs are $17.00/100 from Midway
Midway Dogtown 55 gr SPs are $12.00/100 (shoot just fine) and less in 500 lots (another "bulk" bullet)
Fusions are not Barnes 62gr .224 TAC X bullets, ($30.00/100 on a current special from Cabela's) they are designed for deer sized game and IOE not very accurate either.(338 Federal factory ammo)
Hope nobody sent any $ !

You really are a first class idiot aren't you?

Fusions are propably one of the best factory bullets to come out in several years.

According to whom. They are nothing but a cup and core bonded softpoint not even tipped!

Chuck Hawks, who MIGHT just know a bit more than you said:
"The Fusion bullet, in our testing, does offer excellent accuracy and dramatic but controlled expansion. These bullets are expressly optimized for hunting CXP2 game (basically deer), but based on their controlled expansion they probably have a wider range of application, although this has not yet been proven in the field. Strip away the advertising hype and what is left is an excellent product, perfectly able to stand on its own merits."

So it's just another good bonded bullet. "dramatic but controlled expansion" is NOT what you want for Law Enforcement.
You either want penetration or explosive non penetration. The former for barries and vehicles, the latter to avoid "pass throughs" taking out Uncle George at the Quik Stop standing behind the bad guy.

If you think a Fusion is superior at the former to a MLE TAC X or at the latter to any varmint hollow point ..... you are not too well informed.

The "idiot" is the guy who is fooled by advertising hype and would pay twice the going rate for a rather ordinary bullet.

Barnum is never wrong.

a comparable bullet would be the federal tactical bonded, speer gold dot or maybe the nosler partition bullet. Can only buy the partition bullet though.

They run around $20-21 per 50. ie. $40 to $42 per 100.

Well there is the barnes tac x - They want around $28 per 50 or $56 per 100.

Problem every bullet I've seen tested (except Federal Fusion, barnes tac x, federal tactical bonded, and speer gold dot) is that after barriers only 10-20% of the bullet weight is retained. So ONLY 6-14 grains of bullet is actually hitting the bad guy.

Problem with the barnes is they cost a mint and the petals tend to sheer off or sometimes the JHP gets clogged and it doesn't expand. Not possible with the fusion, fed tac bonded or speer gold dot which are all bonded pointed soft points.

The fusion is a boat tail. So should have a nice BC - I'm not sure if the fed tac bonded or gold dot ammo is or not.

And apparently the fusion line is working great as a hunting bullet as well. So one bullet serves nearly every purpose.

Why am I selling ? - moving all my guns to 308win.

so if it's dramatic yet controlled that is great for soft targets.

If it's bonded (it is) it will survive barriers much better and retain weight and energy to hit the intended target on the other side. (it does)

How many other BONDED bullets can one buy and load on their own?

Tac X / DPX whatever u want to call it the primary problem with barriers is the petals sheering off and the cost. The same problem exists in the 9mm and 40 and 45 pistol bullets many times through glass the petals sheer off. Where as a bullet like gold dot actually expands.

Trader has his facts wrong, apparently not having read my post OR contacted Cabela's.

Bonded bullets one can buy ? You gotta be kidding !
Speer, Nosler, Lapua, Norma ..... need I go on? No I'll let Chuck Hawks ONCE AGAIN set you straight:
m/hunting_bullet_guide2.htm

TAC Xs lose petals eh ? You have shot 100s through window glass, block walls and car bodies I am sure. One "expert" says they lose petals, another "expert" says they don't open up

Glad you found so many happy folks to sell your "bulk bullets" to. Since it is generally department/agency policy NOT to use anything EXCEPT factory loaded ammo, I doubt any of the Rambos from SH will be using them for anything but punching paper and tin can.

Just an FYI, I just bought 1000 MLE TAC X 168 gr 308 from Cabela's for the same price per 100 you got for twenty twos.....
Wonder which will penetrate barrier objects better ?

Some of those petal losing Barnes:

Since this is supposed to be the buy & sell thread I'll make one comment and refrain from anymore. Your claim:
Quote

really doesn't sound plausible. Cabelas online price for those bullets is $37.99 per 50. And you're saying you got them for close to 60% off buy buying what amounts to 20 boxes. I seriously doubt Cabelas gets them for that price. So a BS call is in order here. Oh yes, and the Barnes bullets really do lose a petal now & then on objects as soft as deer bones. Now how about we leave the seller alone to deal with real buyers. Sorry for the interruption.

10-4. That would work. Is it still available?

bosslady - I've spent a lot of time in the junk yard testing stuff.

in auto glass ie. the windshield barnes petals tend to sheer off OR peel all the way back.

Soft tissue barnes are awesome. But they also cost a ton.

I see your 168gr MLE Tac X bullets for 37.99 per 50 smile PER 50 not 100.

you can not buy 223 speer bonded.

you can buy nosler - they are more expensive

im not sure what norma or lapua offer in .224 dia bullets that are bonded.

bosslady - I think you just like to throw your weight around and be bossy. heh
