Anyone developed a load for this bullet(Barnes 110Gr. TTSX) and the .270 Win? Would like to try it in my new Sako A-7 for short to medium range whitetails.

Thanks

Using Barnes 110 TSX, I shoot 48.5 gr. of IMR 4895. Gives me around 3000 fps.

This first one is my uncle. Before anyone comments, my uncle is from the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia. The only hunting he gets to participate in is when he comes to OK during Thanksgiving. So, while this deer might not be a gigantic trophy for some he's happy with it and that's all that matters. This guy had been fighting because he had broken off G2 & G3 on one side and they were both fresh breaks. He dressed out at 115 lbs. About average for our area

The first one is entry, the next one is exit. I really like this load, recoil is mild and the 110 gr. bullet performs great.

I don't think anyone has to explain or justify the critter they or someone else shot.

Good going.

I use the 110 gr tsx loads using 57.0grs of RL-17. Shoots consistent 1/2" groups. Also have used 58grs. H4350 same results. RL-17 has a little more speed just a hair under 3395 fps.

53gr of RL-15 behind the 110gr TTSX gets me just under 3500fps in my 24" 700KS.
60gr of IMR4350 does 3480.

Corrected 3395 fps in 22" barrel. I wish it was 4000 fps....

Roger that. Looks like pretty good steaks to me.

I have loaded up some 110g Tac-X's for my 270Win with some RL17. Started at 54g, moved up in 1g increments to 58g. My lot of 17 is a hotter lot (can't load more than 52.5g of it with 130g NBT's which is a middle of the road load). I have the COAL at 3.240" according to Barnes' load data sheet. What COAL's are you guys having the best luck with? I've read that they tend to work best seated deep, so I'm curious what length everyone has had the best luck with. I'm hoping to shoot them this week.....
