What's a good technique for annealing 308 cases??? Heat with torch till fingers get warm holding bottom 3rd of case for example. How do you guys actually do it without the annealing paint stuff? I'm about to try it for the first time and any guidance would be helpful. I'm trying to figure out how to not "over heat" my brass and ruin it. Thanks

I have a tempilstick but find it inconvenient to use. The tempilaq, which is a paint you put on the inside of the neck probably works better, but I would also rather not go to that extent.

Brass glows to a dull red in a nearly dark room when it reaches 800 deg. F. That is the temperature you want to get to, and then dump it in the water.

Rather use your fingers, I would suggest a drill and either a Lee holder used for trimming length, or chuck a deep socket in the drill and put the case in that as a holder.

Everything you now do is something you have chosen to do. Some people don't want to believe that. But if you're over age twenty-one, your life is what you're making of it. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.
