Yeah - maybe some week. She's got the kids and is usually at her mother's on Mondays. Big family - 11 brothers and sisters.

Currently have 3lbs of cut up rump roast, onions and carrots being braised in chianti and beef stock.

Too bad its for tomorrows dinner, we're having guests over..

Guess I'll eat a yogurt and drink some scotch. Should go well together.

Hope that was't cooked in a dutch oven like "Les" has.

If it was I've never heard it described so eloquently?

laugh

grin not sure what Les has - but mine is a plain ol' Lodge cast iron dutch oven. Pretty cool deal, almost as tender as cooking it 7 hrs in a slow cooker, but it's ready in only 75 minutes. The gravy left over is great on brown rice.

You can, but you won't. Choices and all. No reason to not cook for yerself. I do understand it isn't the same, but the $h!t you have eat from other places, make it a must. I cook for myself or family all the time. Nobody can cook the stuff you like as good as you do. If you can't scale it down, make plenty for the freezer...

From what I understand Les's consists of a mattress covered by linen in which he pulls over his head when he turns the gas on.

My wife is a soup lady. She will throw together a soup that would win contests then when we ask what she did she replies that she just put whatever she thought would be good in a pot and never bothers to write it down. mad

We get a great dinner and will never get the same thing again.

That's pretty much the same as I do, and it aggravates my kids all to hang. I don't know why, I like the little bit different concept truthfully wink

OK but sometimes, make that many times she throws together a soup that is beyond words. It would be so nice if she would just write it down so us soup challenged could make as good a soup once in a while.

That's what I used to do when I was in Bart's current situation.

I'd cook a meal for 4-6 eat plenty and freeze portions to nuke when I was short on time or motivation.

Hot dogs southern West Virginia style with homemade meat sauce, finely shredded slaw, white onion, and mustard.
When I was single cooking for just me was easy. I'd cook a pot of something or other I like divide the left overs and freeze it.

Tonight?
A huge batch of Venison chilli and corn bread for the Lodge's annual meeting.
The recipe started many years ago as a Marlin recipe:
Texas Venison Chilli,
with a little tweeking.
The Brothers beg for it.

I understand, just thinking about you smile

I have lost 13 pounds in just over 4 weeks, and that is not a good thing, or so my Doctor says. I'm just tired of my clothes falling off me....

Just buy new ones! smile smile But then maybe it could get exciting when they do fall off! smile smile smile
