Just bought this rifle (along with a 9.3x62 with no apparent issues).
Problems:
1.) SAAMI COL is waaay too long for this magazine as the spacer on the mag allows for only about a 1.720" case length before it hangs up.
2.) The magazine does not feed well and is unpredictable, causing jams.

I have not fired the gun yet and have several possible options:
1.) Sell it as new and get a caliber that does feed well.
2.) Have magazine modified by a gunsmith so that it wil accomodate longer (up to 1.8" SAAMI spec) cartridges.
3.) Shoot it as a single shot (gurrrrr!!!).

If any of you gunsmiths are aware of this problem and are able to modify the magazine for reliable feeding of SAAMI spec cartridges, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Never had any problems with feeding in mine. And while I mostly shoot mine as single shot, I did modify the magazine by sanding off part of the spacer to accept a longer cartridge OAL. I also have a 527 in .221 that has no such issues.

Did you have to modify the follower after sanding off part of the spacer? Thanks for the input.

Well, first of all, trying to use rounds in a mag longer than it was designed for will cause feeding problems no MATTER the brand of rifle.

A Ruger m77 Hornet does not accept rounds any longer than the CZ -527 will. It also cannot be modded to accept longer ones as the CZ mags can.

Jetblueman..

I have modded several of those CZ -527 Hornet mags to where they would accept rounds long enough to have the bullets seated into the rifling.

PM me and I will be specific as to what I can do.
