For sale is a custom Remington 700 in .270 win. This gun was made by a gunsmith with the initials F.E.T. in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1989. It has a custom wood stock and a heavy barrel that is 26" in length. I believe the twist is 1-10". I DO NOT know who made the barrel. I asked several gunsmiths and none of them knew either. I bought it around 1999/2000 at a gun shop in Fridley, Mn. I have shot several deer with it over the years but the hunting has changed and I'm walking more than before and this is flat out too dang heavy. It weighs 9 lbs 12 oz without a scope. The rifle is in excellent condition overall with the exception of a couple of odd round marks on the right side towards the center of the stock. They were there when I bought it. I am asking $400 plus shipping to your FFL. I assume your dealer, or your personal FFL allows receiving a rifle from a private party. Shipping cost will be determined once I have a zip code to ship it to. I'm guessing it will be around $25.
It seems to prefer 130 grain and lighter. Last year I was experimenting with 140 gr bullets but averaged about 1" to 1 1/4". I had shot some 100 grain a couple of years ago that were 1/2" or less. I only had a couple powders and since I'm moving away from reloading I'm not buying more stuff to experiment more.
Well, one little bump to see if anyone wants a nice rifle at a reasonable price. As pointed out by others, the barreled action is worth my asking price or more. Sorry about the small photos. If someone can educate me on how to get photos on the actual listing page, I would appreciate it.
