I have made a few of those vids, someone must have been laid off from work....that took some time!
I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.

I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul. too true...I have seen with my own eyes many with their shiny new black rifles that shoot 4 inch groups at at 25 yards from a rest at an indoor range. Want to bet the same fellows could build a fire, hike a mile, or put up a tent etc.

Not all that familiar with the timber in that neck of the woods but those are sizable. What type of wood are they gettin' out of those. Construction lumber, furniture, what. I cut my fair share of hardwood veneer in my day in Michigan and had some go for $65 a foot. Obviously not quite that big though. Interesting vids though. Good to see someone WORKING and dropping trees instead of mechanized tree mowing.

Sister looks like 65 pounds of hell to pay.
I usually pinch the bar on my 16" Husky when I cut 15" trees for firewood. Worked for a timber company for a while cruising. Have nothing but respect for men running a saw.

Stick knows his way around a camera, it seems. Would be curious to find out what he 'runs'. Canon digital SLRs, and some nice (i.e. expensive) Canon lenses, plus a Sigma macro lens or two if I recall correctly. If you save his photos on your hard disk, and look at the properties, you can examine the EXIF info right down to the camera model, exposure time, f-stop, exposure compensation, lens, phase of the moon, colour of the photographer's underwear... John

I getta kicka outta the Do-Nothin's trying to stir the pot. It'd be akin to saying I Hunt a Salvage '06,with 4895 fueled NBT's,via BSA glass and Millet mounts...comedy pure and simple. Sister is flailing a Loomis 1024C there,bolted to an ABU Revo STX,stoked with 30lb PP and 20lb Chameleon leaders. Mainly a high volume Meat Fishery,leaving little to "chance". Baby Boy getting some. Steelhead Pursuits can be any of the Loomis Float Rod Series or an 1141-S. STFR1321S,with a Stradic. I don't let the kids drive stuff,that I wouldn't.............. Very cool, freekin beauty pictures too. Very nice.

Wouldn't be hard to find out what he runs in camera gear, just ask him. I've asked him about other stuff in the past and he's always shared his info on gear, though sometimes you might need an interpretor to help you figure it out. No doubt. One of those "Universal Translators" off of Star Trek would come in handy, methinks.

depends on the company....hell some of the time you would prolly think my brothers and i are ready to kill each other when we are out drinking if yah over heard the conversation and didnt know us....most the guys here i want to meet prolly wouldnt notice much difference in me, could care less id Stick is like this in person, be happy as hell to share a beer with him, my hide is thick and can handle chit being slung just fine....

Have "known" the rascal since 2001, from another now-defunct site. He grates on some, others are grateful for some of his tidbits, some can't stand him.
Lots of folks on this planet, not everyone is gonna like everyone else. Got a suspicion that some wouldn't like him even if he'd co-authored a Dale Carnegie course?
Primarily, because while they're stuck all week behind a desk, or some job they hate, ol' Grumpass is generally muckin' about in the woods or on the water? Just a hunch. ;O)

It seems JGRaider is the only one that get's it, Big Shtick can be vile and belligerent for thousands of posts........then slip in a couple pic's of pure innocent children for misdirection so you think he is warm and cuddly. It amazes me that poeple can be manipulated so easily. If you look at his body of work 80% is vile pompous arrogance, about 10% is true useable knowledge that you can gain something from and 10% is what he is doing on this thread, damage control. The weather warmed up into the 30s today giving me an opportunity to get on the Bobcat and scrap the schit of the cattle loafing shed floor.
BS informed us that he is on vacation for two weeks. This would be a good opportunity to clean up the BS in this thread. Will someone open the gate and let me move the Bobcat into this here barn. I can have it scraped clean in a short.

I got the wood stove door open behind me here, waiting for a couple unsplit tamarack chunks to take flame so I can shut the door & choke down for the night. Plowed a few miles of access for myself & neighbors out in the country with a 40 year old 3/4 ton pickup with a blade. (snow) Drank the last 2 beers in the fridge, had a couple egg nog calverts... and a glass of wine. Hoping for a decent nights sleep and a reply along the line here from Stick on saw chain opinion. g'night all stick haters and followers.. and thick skins like myself that just dont mind either way. Remember, it's just the inner'net.

I've always thought that "envy" explained why some folks seem compelled to mix it up with him verbally .He ,OTOH, seems to thrive on contention.I never have gotten the impression he thought he knew more about a particular subject than anyone else in the world. But he damn sure claims to know more than whoever is in his sights at the moment .

G - yes he does, and I think his tone and delivery has improved, and content very much of value.
Sometimes losing the riddle might convey even more value to folks, but he shoots straight - in what he says, and that can't be said for all - whether knowingly done or not.
It's always nice hearing other's experience, sometimes different results, though w/same equipment - as that's how things sometimes work. We all often have a little and sometimes more than so, different opinions, and that is ok. Just how it is, less boring that if everyone were clones.
Where would the entertainment and educational aspect of this forum be w/o sharing varying experiences, gear, and results?

Wanted it for bokeh blowout and perspective pokes,via razor thin DOF. I think THE sleeper glass of All Time is the Tammy SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di Macro...I love that thing. Generally have the Canon 70-200 F/2.8 and 100-400L in the bag too. Had prolly "too many" bodies for a spell,with a 40D,1Ds,1D MK2n and 1D Mk3 in the bag...but begrudgingly tripped the '2n. So I shoot all 3 Canon DSLR sensor sizes and am a Crop Slut. Will revisit the 1Ds with the 50/1.4 melding,if only in fairness,as ISO latitude was one of it's greatest hurdles. Will have to sort through here and catch up with the Whining.......................(grin)

30's? damn! Aren't you skeert yer snow will melt? I got the wood stove door open behind me here, waiting for a couple unsplit tamarack chunks to take flame so I can shut the door & choke down for the night. Plowed a few miles of access for myself & neighbors out in the country with a 40 year old 3/4 ton pickup with a blade. (snow) Drank the last 2 beers in the fridge, had a couple egg nog calverts... and a glass of wine. Hoping for a decent nights sleep and a reply along the line here from Stick on saw chain opinion. g'night all stick haters and followers.. and thick skins like myself that just dont mind either way. Remember, it's just the inner'net. The way I see it Dave.... Great entertainment value and iffin a feller don't want to get his nuts thumped, he may better remain on the sideline. Never saw Stick feed anyone bad information...recken he just don't tolerate differences of opinion very well He does have a way with words don't he? G I much encourage a differing opinion on things,as I ain't never not looking for a better way. But many think that nothin',is sumptin' and that's when it gets slickery...............(grin)

The Bradley initial concept,was/is great,but they were non S/S and puked fairly fast here. The S/S option was a great thing and the digital controller,even more of a great thing.

I was just playing around there,the Bear you cite while solid,isn't what I'd term a "Shooter". Sister killed a 7.5'+,22-incher this Spring,with a Montucky 7 Whizzum. Had to buy her one of her own after that,as she was gonna steal mine.(grin) Pretty killer video,I should upload it too............... That is awesome. Man, I envy this kid, does things I only dreamed of at that age. Still,actually! Love the fact that she took the time to paint her nails(2 tone,no less) and then went and got some blood on her pants-sheer awesomeness! One question,what is the purpose of the green tape on the turrets? Never saw that before but figured there must be a good reason. Your pics are always top notch, lets me live vicariously a little bit. Maybe you should start a picture thread so I don't have to sort through people talkin chit to find them,eh?

As to the green tape on the turrets.
It is the best place to keep extry tape handy,as a guy can either: A) unwind it and snip/tear,per whim or B) remove turret and use as a tape roll...both as means of muzzle protection from weather/obstructions.
We get some weather,even on the "good" days.............(grin)

one of my sisters left rural Montana as soon as she could......she just cant fathom why i love it here and thinks we were crazy when we didnt pack up and leave when my wife was offered a big money job on the east coast......Alaska is one of the few places i would leave here for but it aint likely to happen...working for myself now and can easily make time to play and dont have to go far to do so.....

Nice colors/contrast and there's always points awarded for a Pink Rifle...but Pop's takes the cake,if only because it defines sooooooooooo many things.
