I can't think of one either. With Dicks Sporting Goods just having a sale on 700 ADL stainless/sythetic's for $400 I see no reason to use a T3 for a build...........just a curiosity question!

Check with 'yukonal, I think he has done one with Kampfeld and is starting another custom build with Robert Gradous equipped w/.284 T3 action/Shilen barrel/Mcmillan stock.

It's in the works. Best factory action/trigger made, for under $1,000.00.

I have toyed with the idea, the action is solid across the top, so it is stiff. I would like to see a 6.5-284 that has the barrel traced from a varmint contour so it could be a drop in.

The rifle: A Tikka T3 with a #5 Shilen barrel chambered in .30/06.

Here are some pictures of the groups:

This target is two separate 3 shot 100 yard groups. One on each side of the "10"

I shot one then bumped the scope two clicks and shot the other one:

If you moved the targets closer,it might shoot as good as my Titanium do further,as issued............

This is a friend's T3 300 WinMag. Barrel is a bit lighter than Rem varmint, I think it's a Lilja, but may be mistaken. 22" plus Holland brake. Manners carbon fiber stock. Alloy rail and 35mm Seekins alloy rings. Scope is a Vortex Razor 5-20x50 with MRAD reticle.

He's shooting 208s at 2900 fps. It's a hammer at one mile. Last summer we were plinking out to 2300 yards with it, courtesy of a PLRF-10 rangefinder. For a tac style rig it's surprisingly light, even with the Hubble glass. It's a shooter.

Does the T-3 have the same seperate recoil lug as the 595?

When rebarreling is it replaced with a conventional washer type lug between barrel and action?

The lug on my .30/06 is the more conventional washer/700 type.

As an original T-3 or rebarreled with a replacement lug?
