I'm selling a vintage, all-steel Redfield 80 sight for a Savage 99. The sight is designed to be used on rifles that are drilled and tapped for scopes. The sight is in mint, unused condition and comes with the factory box, plastic wrap, and factory mounting screws. Asking $100 shipped. Accept money orders/cashiers checks, personal checks (held until cleared) and paypal.

First I'll take it gets it.

Thanks.

Lots of guys that know more about Savage 99's than me, but the first ones I knew that were factory drilled and tapped were produced in the 1950's.

I had a 1961 DL which was factory D&T'd.

Any that I have owned that were earlier, were not D&T'd.

For those that have asked additional questions. The sight is not listed in Stroebel's book, which I find odd. The model designation stamped on the sight is LS. Stroebel lists the L as fitting 1899's. I'm guessing the S was added to designate "Scope"? The hole spacing is 1/2" and the sight base is angled from front to back to follow the contour of the sloping receiver at the two rear scope mount holes. Here are some additional pics.

Once again, the sight is sold pending funds to madcap.

That reminds me of the girl that went fishing with the 7 guys, she came home with a big red snapper!

I have a 1936 EG that is factory drilled and tapped.

Now back to the sight.

It is all original and correct. As stated it is for the later models that have factory drilled and tapped scope holes and not the older tang holes. The only difference between the 70 and the 80's is the quick release button for the slide.
