---SPF---Winchester 9422 22WMR as new in box brown w/red letters with papers no hang tag, this gun was bought new from a gun shop.I have never fired the gun, but I think it has been used very little. The gun doesn't have a mark on it 100% as new. $700 FTF

Winchester 9422 22 LR TRAPPER when the last time you saw one of these. This gun would be 100% new but a sling swivel stud was installed, and there is a chip that can be seen in the photo. Box red w/silver & white letters included no paper work or hang tag. This gun has been used very little,as can be seen on the bolt. $700 FTF

He said he has the box and paperwork. Maybe he got it there. Maybe a question like that would be better served in a pm

Onpoint, All 9422'S I have or have seen have XTR roll marked on barrel. Maybe a question should be addresed here.
Huntz, the early 9422 XTR's were NOT checkered. About '78 or so XTR's were checkered. I believe production stopped on XTR's around late '80's, maybe '86. The later 9422's until production ceased were checkered.
The XTR's were deep blued and high gloss wood finish.

Exactly.

The rifle shown above are post XTR rifles which Winchester called the "traditional" walnut carbines until they stopped production a few years ago.. All true "XTR" rifles were rollstamped that way on the barrels.

FWIW, many folks like the more subdued Traditional finish over the Weatherbyesque high gloss on the XTRs.

A nice pair of m9422s, IMHO. wink

It is my mistake, I dug out the boxes they are not XTR's. I thought if they were checkered they were XTR's. I was not trying to mislead any one. They are nice guns and should go to a nice home.
Sorry but thanks for the correcting me I will be more care full in the future posts. As they say a picture is worth a 1000 words Craig

Huntz,
Basically that is correct. However many variations were made in 9422's. They were specific collectibles so to speak. A turkey gun, maybe an Annie Oakley .A yellow Boy . A couple of Hi Grades. Some had color-case hardened receivers. I am sure more than that. I, to be sure, am NOT an authority. I know just enough to be dangerous.
