Ive got this friend who has this new Ruger No. 1 in 270 Wby Mag. that is spotless and unfired but has no box and I know that Ruger discontinued these back in I think 1999 and are prbably pretty rare as Ive never seen or heard of one of these until now and I was just curious what this rifle might bring at sale or auction

I would say it's worth around $125, since there is no box and factory ammo is kinda hard to come by. But, I'm a real sucker for #1's, I would offer $150 to help you out.

I bought mine new in the box in 2008 for $600. Most of the ones i've seen on Gunbroker lately have been up in the $900 range, but not getting bids. That one starting at $775 should be a good one to watch and see where it goes.

That one has an extraordinary piece of walnut. To me, that would up it's value by a few bucks...

That would be an awesome rifle to take on a plains game safari!

Add a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44 and you're set!

I own one and it is a great cartridge.
The wood looks fantastic, it should sell for at least $800 and up.
They are hard to come by, especially one that is new and unfired.

Box, paperwork, unfired, nice lumber, limited run of caliber, I would say $900 isn't crazy, but may not sell in a hurry on GB.
IMHO

I agree...$900 for the right buyer, but who knows how long it would take for the right buyer to show up? Maybe tomorrow, maaybe not. $800 on average, but price it in the 7's and you should have cash in hand in short order.

I'd love to get one in .375 Ruger, but I've heard they need some work to get them accurate. Any truth to this?

The Craig Boddington series of limited edition rifles came in 5 different calibers, one being 375 Ruger. That one will set a person back $1100 to $1300, since it has circasion walnut, better sights with white bead, matte blue finish. I think they made the medium sporter, sights, medium weight 22" bbl, Alexander-Henry forearm in the stainless/laminate set up, which has now been removed from the offering, can be had for the $800-$900 range. Ruger lists the .375 Ruger as available in the walnut/blued medium sporter also.

Mine was bought used (like new) a few years back for $600. It carries a Minox 3x9x40 now and is my long range blind gun for deer. I think that it is outstanding. Good luck.
