Inquiring if anyone is running a Zeiss Conquest 3-9 on a Ruger long action? And if so, are there any issues with ring spacing? ie, can you mount the scope and have any "wiggle room" fore or aft for proper eye relief? Or does it just barely fit in the factory spacing and you get what you get?
Please God, give me some good tags this year....

What ever you do, just make sure you lap thise ruger rings they can work a scope over if not lapped. I like the ruger setup but their rings can be very untrue.

Many thanks. Looks like quite a bit of wiggle room. No problems with such a large ocular bell? Or pinching thumbs when cycling the bolt? I know many shy away from Nikons for similar reasons.

Thank You sir. Will be contacting my FFL shortly. I was able get my hands on a Conquest last night. And after Jeff's description of turret re-setting, it seems the best overall choice for what I am trying to do. Was intially enomored by the Z-600 reticle, but unsure if I will really need it. On a short barreled 375 Ruger that is intended for close use, it may be too much clutter. And although I don't like the unmarked turret adjustment, I can certainly understand resetting it to the far right marks and using all 12 marked minutes as elevation. Looks real nice. Thanks again for taking the time and pics to help me out.
