Nice battery of No. 1s!

I just traded for a 1-S in .338 WM--any idea how many were made? I cannot recall seeing another No. 1 with an AH fore end and a 26-inch barrel.

The 1S in .338 WM is probably the most desirable of the cataloged 1S calibers, the others being the 7mm RM and the .300 WM. No one knows how many were made, but the .338 was in the catalog for a shorter period of time, as compared to the other two, which were first cataloged in 1970. All 3 of these calibers are now discontinued; I believe the newly cataloged .300 H&H is now the only 26" barrel 1S now available. Several 22" barreled calibers are now in the lineup, including the .338 RCM.
Great elk rifle!

Just out of curiousity, what's the approximate value of a #1 blue/wood in 25-06 in in mint condtion?

Man, I could get hooked on #1s too if I didn't still have such hate for Bill Ruger.

Beautiful guns! Though for whatever reason, teh SS ones just don't do it for me and normally I"m a McMillan/SS guy on bolts.

I have no love nor hatred for Bill Ruger, but do appreciate his contribution to the revival of classic designs for pistols and rifles during the era when every manufacturer was trying to imitate Roy Weatherby at 1/3 to 1/4 the price. Just curious, what is your beef with him? (FWIW, I do know a fair number of folks in Arizona that used to take issue with his politics...)

My #1H in 405 Winchester. Here's why I like it more than just the looks and function.
