On the Eastern Shore of Virginia, 25-06 and 300WSM are great deer medicine!

After years of hunting deer and killing them with different rifle rounds. My choice today is the good old 7x57 Mauser with 160 gr bullet Make mine a 280 Remington. Never a doubt about its capability with 150 CoreLokt's.

I've killed the most with my old thutty-thutty, but that was back when I was young and didn't know that the .270 is vastly superior....

(250 Savage))Yep! With 100gr X and 117gr roundnose Hornady. You must have 1-10" ROT, correct? Those bullets don't work too good in my Savage EG with a 1-14" ROT.

You still don't know anything. I know an internet a**-hole when I see one. Say's "Swampman 700" on it.

After years of hunting deer and killing them with different rifle rounds. My choice today is the good old 7x57 Mauser with 160 gr bullet My favorite for the blacktail/whitetail hybrids (is that close enough? grin) I get into my favorite is my .358 M7. A fast killer that doesn't turn meat into jelly and is easy on my old ears.

My rifles are in .30-06, .303 British, .300 Savage, 7.65x53, 7.62x39, and .338 WM I would have to say .300 Savage. However I intend to send the .338 down the road and replace it with a .243.

What's a whitetail? Jeff O have you ever shot a whitetail?
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I've used a .270 on a few, but the good old 30-30 is still my favorite.

What type pistol? I just bought a Magnum Research Lone Eagle in .308, and am seriously thinking about giving it a whirl.
I went to Ft. Lee today with my .44 mag and the Lone Eagle, but the RSO wouldn't let me fire the Lone Eagle, it is outside of the caliber restrictions. But, I understand the centerfire rifle range is due to open in the summer.
He said he wanted to see it fired, but couldn't let me, the last guy who brought a .45-70 pistol got him in trouble..
