I was hoping some of you guys that have taken brown bears would post some pic's. Looking for any picture really but interesting angles or shots of the paws or head would be great. Setting up the picture properly can make or break the enjoyment of looking at it later. Any tips would be great.
I will be flying out to Kodiak in 3 weeks so am getting pretty excited to get going. Thanks Dean

Salmonella, Like that first one white claws and dark paws. Other bear looks huge. Big hump on him. Kodiak bear?

The truly big bears are.....er, bruteaful (and don't need "helpful" poses).

This one wasn't a large bear, but I like the pic, only in part because of the (helpful) pose.

Mostly, I like it 'cause my trusty young partners, ages 6 and 8 here, made the 3/4 mile trek and stalk in order to get to make the shots, both for IMR and for Kodak.

Don't forget, in the excitement of the moment, that the memories that the pictures reflect, involve all parties, and that getting them properly recorded will be valued later on. (And you'll never again be as young and handsome as you are now! grin )

'Twas an attempt to put a positive spin on, "You're only going to go the other direction." grin (Man, I hate to hear people tell my older son that "he looks just like his dad".. frown ....poor kid!)

Here you can see how large the claws are. The finger pads are as large around as a man's wrists

Here is another large bear showing the overall mass and size of head

Same here, people seem to think it'll make me feel prouder or something but if it's true I feel sorry for the kids.

Dean-
Best of luck to you - the anticipation is likely killing you.
As for the backdrop and getting the shot right - you're at the mercy of where he drops. grin
