Anyone have this holster? What do you think of it? I was thinking about getting one for my Ruger Flattop 44 Special.

I have one that I think is a PS6-DA. It's a well made and very stiff holster. If you like pancake holsters you will probably like it. Mine is for a 3" gun, for some reason I'm not sure I'd like it for anything longer than 4" but I'd have a hard time explaining exactly why. Maybe because I'm not typically crazy about all pancake holsters but have become used to this one.

I have two. One for the USFA 4-3/4" SA and another for my FA97 4-1/4" gun. I like 'em. Ride high, close and secure. Easier draw (once broken in) than a standard pancake. Quality. Worth the money. I have a T3P from El Paso for my .44 Special FT. The belt, if you don't already know this, is an important adjunct to the holster as that is what keeps it from flopping about (if it fits) and what will be the cause of all your complaints (if it doesn't fit).

Sincerely,

Hobie

Here is the photo of mine with my Bowen custom .44 FT. I prefer to use the rig cross draw as it works better on the tractor and just woods bummin'. Seems to be more out of the way when doing chores.

How is it for holding the gun securely?

I just got a simply rugged sourdough pancake for my 4 5/8 bisley 45. I am really liking it so far. The PS6-SA was my second or third choice. Anyone have both or know how they compare?

I have been carrying a .45 Colt(or .44 Mag), Ruger Bisley Vaquero in one of Bob's PS6-SA holsters for several years now. In cooler weather, I CCW a SA.

He makes a most excellent product. With his design, you can easily bring that hog leg into action quickly.

If you roll down a steep hill you will probably be separated from your gun. I did not deliberately test this, but sometime stuff happens. I think the short barrel was working against me on this. Otherwise it's pretty secure.
