Cerakote and Teflon have pros and cons. I would go with whatever is the thinnest . I have read thru some of the posts and can only surmise that the applicator did not do a good job when prepping and applying the finish.

I've used Brownell's spray-on Moly/Teflon (then bake), I've used DuraCoat and I've gotten my last several guns coated with a Teflon finish, trade name Black Ice. Black Ice appears to be very durable. I banged a barrel against steel pipe and would have sworn it would have knocked a chip out of the barrel, but all it did was transfer some rust off of the pipe to the barrel.

Doug Burch (Ultra Bore Coat) told me there were approximately 66 Teflon formulations on the market right now, and they are all different in thickness and durability.

That's one of the main reasons I like Birdsong. The consistency of the finish seems to be perfect.

I believe they offer Green-T coloration also.
I highly recommend Birdsong and Associates.

There is a reason that Birdsong has the contracts with military, OEM's and law enforcement around the country. They make a good product. They offer the traditional black-t, nato green and now a few more colors including two shades of gray, desert tan and pink. They are also testing a new product that is supposed to be more durable.

I've had both and like them both. Cerakote is a tougher more abrasion resistant finish. Black T is a smoother slicker finish and the ability to coat the internals is a nice feature. I've got a NULA and a 700 that are about to go to Eddie for Cerakote and my Borden rifle is headed to Birdsong for Black T.

If I ever decide to give Cerakote a try on something in the future, I would use eddie f too based on all the positive feedback I've seen here. I've had a couple of sidebar conversations with him and he strikes me as a detail orientated guy who was more than happy to answer all the questions I had with a no nonsense type approach.
