Can anyone advise of the differences between these two scopes? I realize that the B&L was dropped from production or underwent a namechange to Bushnell but are they the same products of equal quality? The B&L marketed for approx $375 a dozen or so years ago...and now you can purchase a new Bushnell Elite 3200 2X7 for about $225 !! What would you consider fair market value for an "unused out of the box" B&L 3000 2X7X32mm to be as I am presently considering purchasing this scope for one of my deer rifles? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mechanically, they are the same scope made by the same OEM in Japan. 3200's have Rainguard lense coatings, 3000's (and 4000") do not. Some feel that the newer versions have slightly better glass (clarity/brightness) than the B&L 3000 and 4000 predecessors.

Bushnell has discontinued the 3200 and 4200 series this year. They now sell the popular models of each line under one series called BUSHNELL ELITE. All of the ELITE series are equal to the old 4200 series except they have argon gas instead of nitrogen and they have an improved lens coating. Just so you know they have the 2-7x32 in the series for around $260.00. It is the same scope as the 3200 except it is better because it has fully multi coated lenses.
The only difference between the old 3000 and 4000 series and the newer 3200 and 4200 was the RAINGAURD. That is what the 200 designates.

Thanks for the responses guys! It is much as I had thought. My moose hunting partner has the B&L 3000 2X7 and I am considering purchasing it. I would like to make sure we are on the same page and I make an honest fair offer for the scope. Ebay had one for just under $150. My partner bought his about 10 or 12 years ago and never used or even installed it on a rifle and paid $375 and change from a Mom&Pop shop in North Bay! He has just recently purchased a new Rem 700 MSS in stainless with Laminated stock in .280 Rem with Leupold 3X9 for a fall Elk hunt in Alberta this year. Beautiful rifle!!!
If there are any other comments keep them coming, they are all appreciated.

I have a B&L Elite 3000 3-9x40; it was 220 and I got it on sale for 190 or 200 in'97. The new coatings are probably better but I like my old scope better than my dad's new Bushnell Elite 3200's.
