starting to mess with my Marlin 1895 ABL and am finding my screwdriver set seems to be lacking. i need a good set that will fit the Marlin's screws so i don't bugger them any worse than the factory worker that assembled it what are you guys using? does somebody make a screwdriver set just for the Marlins? if no, what is the best gunsmithing screwdriver set?

I've found the Midway set (whatever it's called) fits about everything.

The "best" set? Not sure what brand might fit that description . I have a B-square set that works for everything I've needed them for. 30 +/- pieces in the set, I got mine at the local Sportsmans whorehouse before it closed. I recall seeing the same set on the Midway website. Definite advantage to using "gunwork dedicated" screwdrivers on your guns. Before I got my set I would hand file regular tapered blade screwdeivers to straight blades - worked, but time consuming.

looked on Midway...they have the Wheeler 72 piece set on sale right now. problem solved. 54 hollow ground straight bits should cover my needs (plus the specialty bits for ring bases, ect) anyway, this set is $18 off right now. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=223597

Brownells Magna-Tips are pretty good. I just checked the screws on my 1895 and these sizes seemed to do the job: 270-4, 180-2, 180-3, 180-4. Stuart
