Kimber might have kept the 260 in the stable if they went 1:8 twist, and the 130 NABs at 2800ish was a factory offering (you can get 100 grain BTs from Federal.) The 140 green box Remmy ammo has yet to shoot under MOA in ANY 260 I've ever owned, including cut rifled barrels from top shelf makers. Accuracy with that load in the Kimbers was straight up piss poor, and they knew it. You ain't going to educate the masses, so they dropped it.

Agree. At the bench, too light of a hold (i.e. no forend grip) is very bad, and I can't seem to be consistent with too firm a grip. A grip with just enough to control it for the most part seems to be just right. Conveniently for a hunting rifle, the grip is about what you'd use shooting offhand or kneeling anyway.
