Im sure this subject has been beat to death in the past, but I handled a Leupold scope recently that was no doubt a knock off copy from over seas. Any of you encountered these?

Just being nosy; was it for sale, or had someone you knew purchased it?

Not positive, but I think the copies are of the tactical scopes.

Leupold knock-offs are probably better than the real thing.

I'm certain a BSA is better than a Swaro

I own one of the Mark 4 knockoffs that were popping up everywhere a while back. It's a 4.5-14x50, and it's a piece of junk. it's not nitrogen sealed, I'm pretty certain it's not coated glass, and the turrets were junk-they couldn't even be set to zero because the allen screws securing the turret couldn't be loosened. On the plus side mine has stood up to ~50 rounds of 270 win and held zero.

This scope was also a Mark 4 4.5-14x50, not a 4-14.
