I have a savage model 10 predator and I would like to mount a 1 piece base, that accepts weaver type rings. (It has the new accu-trigger, round receiver) I am going to put a zeiss or leupold 1 inch scope. I want to buy the best,Any in-put would be helpful. Thanks Tom

Is it a round rear on the top of the receiver? If so, there are a lot of options...

I don't know about the "best" but EGW makes a pretty nice Picatinny rail for the Savage.

I use several styles of Ken Farrell basses. 20 MOA, G-Force, Standard 1-Piece, and his new adjustable MOA base.

Every one I have used fits perfectly. I bed with J-B Weld and use Imperial Die Sizing Wax for release. Very little is needed because the bases are true.

I used to shoot a 26" heavy barrel Savage 223 with 75 grain Hornady and Nosler 55 bullets. Made a in-the-rump-out-the-chest shot on a rock chuck at 527 yards with that set up. 0n two occations I fired ten shot groups with Nosler 55 grainers. One at 100 yards and the other at 200 yards. The 100 yard group was a .430" and the 200 yard group measured .875". Savage makes accurate stuff.


After 2,200 rounds I converted it to my .224 MBOC. It will no longer shoot the 75's so I settled on the Noslers. Fifty-nine point five grains averages 3,930 feet per second. A couple days ago I fired one group at 200 yards which measured .450" for three shots. Then I switched to 300 yards. With the Bushnell 6500 set on 20X I fired three shots. Two were covered by the first dot down, which I was aiming with, and the other was just out side the dot at about 2 O'clock.

It, as well as the other rifles I use, carries Weaver bases holding Burris Signature rings with the inserts.
