Thanks, Sam that answers the question. The demonstration shows what I learned as a "hasty sling".

For me a hasty sling is no where near as helpful in shooting as a military sling -- but that may not be true for others. (Believe me I need all the help I can get; most of my shooting at game has been from the sitting position with a tight military sling.)

Yup, got a couple of scenarshooter's slings myself. Worked right well in RSA and Zimbabwe this year.

The Zimbabwean National Parks scout was admiring the sling on my rifle, so when I left I gave him the sling for his AK-47. He was a happy camper! grin

10-4 FOst, Im thinkin' the 1.25" Montana would be perfect on my old 505 Gibbs in Africa.

I've also wanted to pick up a couple of these after finally seeing one.

For those that use them now - do most use the 1 inch or 1 1/4 on your hunting rifles??

Oregonmuley, cant help You there, I've only used the 1" on a rifle weighing 8 3/4 lbs. all up, and its quite comfortable to me, not hunted yet, but made several trips out to 100/200 yard target stands and back.
I think the 1 1/4" would be GTG on bolt rifle's weighing up to 12 lbs.

You bet, and Im keeping in mind the additional clothing we'll have on while hunting during the fall and winter, the 1" was comfortable for me in a T-shirt.

This is what I did with my pre-64 .30-06. Works real slick!!

I also have a cartridge holder and 2 belts and the quality is all top notch. Big thumbs up here!
