These stocks are still available from Brown Precision also but almost twice as expensive as the McMillan, but then again, the "Brown" IS Kevlar whereas the McMillan is fiberglass with "Edge" fill. The 243 has a 20" LW (mountain contour I believe) barrel, the 7SAUM has 22" barrel with a different contour. I think they call it the Mag contour, which I think is close to the standard contour barrel. Someone else jump in here that knows. There is no accounting for taste. Experience is a great thing as long as one survives it. Generally, there ain't a lot that separates the two however, Barely making it is a whole lot more satisfying than barely not making it.

stray round Campfire Tracker S Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 3,009	Yes, the 7SAUMS have a heavier barrel. The slightly heavier barrels actually feel better balanced to me than the lighter barreled M7s. I don't know if it is the same contour, less flutes, as the M7 Predator's fluted barrel or not. My .223 M7 CDL is just too muzzle light for me. Anyone ever try hollowing out the CDL stock to lighten the buttstock?
