Looking to get a tent from Cabelas. Want a good sized tent that could handle 6 or so people fairly well. Will be used mostly by 4 people and 3 dogs. Just want to get the family out for a few weekends a year. Will be in the Big Horn mountains, or lakes of Wyoming. I am considering this tent made by Browning. Any issues? Any reviews or comments? Any ideas on better options?

I use a 6 man Eureka Timberline Outfitter for just myself. Make sure you allow plenty of room per person.

i have no experience with any browning tent, but it looks well enough made, by it's specs...

i personally do not like any poles to go through any sleeves... i like the eureka clips that can be attached with one hand, and the poles meet at a central hub which is sewn to a loop on the tent roof...
this has proven to be the easiest set up system i have ever used, and it is very sturdy... i have ridden out 60 mph winds in my eureka HQ tent...

tent poles and sleeves = frustration and wasted time IMO....

I agree, go big, or bigger with a family style camping tent- no such thing as too much room...

Go with a Barney's Bombshelter or stay home.

you bring up an excellent point. If the kids are old enough, let them have a small tent of their own.

We use a Swiss Gear tent - it's got an outside frame and the tent clips to that and has a mesh top. There's a canopy that fits over the top for rain. Light and plenty of room for 6 sleeping on big inflatable mattresses. Got it at Sam's for $199 and it's great, although not recommended for extreme use.

I don't see the exact model but here's one and you can explore the rest of the site... http://www.swiss-gear-tents.com/ccp0-prodshow/montreaux.html

When a column of troops under Lt. Col. Francis Smith moved into the countryside to collect arms and munitions gathered by the patriot militia, hostilities erupted at Lexington and Concord on Apr. 19, 1775.
