Anybody wanna throw out some favorite pet loads? I don't have any books with 130gr data in it, I searched here and looked on the net but didn't find much.
Hodgdon site says min 39grs and max 41.7grs with IMR4064, doesn't seem like it gives ya much room to play with..lol
Someone told me Speer books says up to 46grs with 4064...wonder why theres such difference between the Speer book and Hodgdon?

I have 4064 and Varget on hand and was hoping for something with these powders to start with.

i use a a load of 51 grs. W760 for the barnes 120 X.50 grs of same for 140 partition. this is max in my rifle.vel. 2,877 fps. start low and work up very carefully !!!!!! the powders u have should give good accuracy but not likly top velocity. i always strive for top velocity/accuracy/ bullet choice for hunting applications.

I load 44.5 grains of IMR 4064 with the 130 Speer in my wife's Model 7 Remington and my Tikka T3 because it is accurate in both. The late Bob Milek, in an article in Petersen's Hunting from 24 years ago, when lawyers were less influential in the reloading market, used 46 grains of IMR 4064 to get 3100 fps from a Remington 700 with a 22 inch barrel.

I've been able to top 3000 fps with the 130 BTSP behind both IMR4320 and R-15 out of my Remington Model 7. For hunting, I back off to around 2950 fps. Just work up your load using the usual criteriae, and when you reach the max for your rifle, back off 1-2 grs.

Speer 130 BT; 45.5 grains of IMR 4064; WLR primer; .010 off rifling.

Very accurate in my rifle.

Speer 130 BTSP over 47 Gr. of W-760 cuts one ragged hole from my 20" M7 . I haven't shot any game with them as I use the 145 Gr. for Deer with the same charge of 760 .

7mm-08 has the tendency of making a variety of powders look good.

Sounds like the Speer bullets run under the radar. All you seem to hear about are Berger (my favorite), Barnes TTSX and Nosler BT's. I'll have to try a box and see for myself.

I love the campfire, it's turning into the 7mm-08 forum, that's a good thing.
