Couldn't agree more. I would never knock my Kifaru stuff I just like my MR stuff better.

I once visited a place where BBQ was a verb, Canadian whiskey was the norm and no sweet tea on the menu. Hell on earth for a Southern boy!!

duxndogs, I wouldn't knock Kifaru either. I had the hardest time trying to decide between a Kif Pointman or a MR Big Horn. I finally got the Big Horn because I was sick of digging through a pack to get things. I love my kifaru Gen 1 Woobie and am saving up to get one of their sleeping bags. If I had money I'd get a pack from each company to just to try on and have.

I'd buy a used Dana Design for 25-50% of the price of a brand new pack and would find myself still using it in twenty years if I desired it so. Don't get me wrong. I'm a pack fanatic. I LOVE to buy brand new gear, but the prices on new packs of this level are absurd.

For those interested in the new ultralight fabrics (Dyneema and newer), this is kind of a neat video with a ton of information and interesting facts. It might be deceivingly light and intuitively leading otherwise, but the stuff is tough as nails.

Interesting video ZenoMarx. I have a Dyneema bottom and back panel on my McHale. Very tough stuff.

Any love for Eberlestock?

I recently picked up a Gunslinger 2 after ordering an X2 and deciding it may have been a little small.

I've owned Kifaru and MR, Eberlestock materials, design and construction are on par with the big 2.

Downside for some is they are not made in the states.
