Scotty, is that stock brown or grey? It looks kind of grey on my screen. What do you think of the stock? It looks good my friend and will be quite a but stronger than your factory stock. Much more resilient to the harsh weather during elk season too.

BSA, it is grey. It isn't actually my stock. Had a good friend that had it collecting dust, so he lent me this stock till mine comes in from McMillan. My wood stock was getting kinda whooped on with the crack in the tang, so I just decided to take it off before I destroy it beyond repair. The McMillan in the picture is bedded in the recoil lug area (his). I had to remove just a touch of material in order to get mine in there, but once I did, it fit nice and snug.

Turned in a good 3 shot group at 200, at least good enough for me with my hunting load. This was shot with a loop sling on the ground, so I am sure they would do better off the bench, but I am just about worn out on bench work for this year.

Although I will have PT's for the rifle, I am hoping to use the 225 BBC this Fall.. They shoot within the same group.

I actually just ordered some 225 Speers in order to practice with. I haven't been able to get 225 PT's from SPS, so for now, I am hoping the 225 Speers will work for practice..

Thank you. It is my primary elk rifle. Wife got it for me for our 10 year anniversary just as I returned from #7 to AFG. I can't find a good reason most of the time to not use it.

This one's only about 1/4 Model 70 now. Started life as a Featherweight Classic 280 Rem BOSS. Replaced the stock with a Boyds Prairie Hunter and threw on a 23'' Bartlein.

I have a 30-06 with factory 24" sporter barrel. To me it isn't really too long at all.

This is a damn good thread. Anyone else care to post some pics of their new model 70's? I know Razz has a new 338 Alaskan that he may want to post pictures of here. Bump this one along..

7mm-08 SuperGrade. I've killed two deer with it and i get more enamored with it evrytine i carry it. It's a bit heavy( according to those that "know" on here). But it hangs on target well and is more than a little attractive

Stand by for photos of my new Cabelas 7mm Mauser Supergrade lightweight...shooting it today. I mounted a spare Meopta 3-9X in Talley steel lows for range testing. I was going to put a fixed 4X on it, but the Meopta is soooo nice. Rifle, scope and mounts weigh 8.6 lbs empty. And yes, this is an awesome thread!
