This buck had slipped by us the past 2 years, last Sat. we finally got him. Well, not me, but a client, 86 YO gentleman, real nice guy. He used the same escape route, this time we had someone who could shoot. 30 3/4" 175ish. I have a late season tag for the same area and was planning on chasing this buck, but it all worked out.

"this time we had someone who could shoot" That do make a difference, don't it. That is a good one.

86 years old and can shoot, why dose that not surprise me! Like you little friend. Horses makes hunting so much more . I don't ride like I use to. But I do miss not having a horse around thou. Next to a dog, I will always choose a good horse.

sometimes we can sneek closer, sometimes we can't. We had a hunch this buck would come thru the same saddle as the last 2 yrs, the gentleman had a 50 yd shot, 2 previous shooters missed the same shot at the same buck. Our hunter was dusted, spent the next 2 days in bed, but he is 86!
