Royce, I've been to Pete's in Lima Montana. You describe it well.

I'll nominate the Shooting Star Saloon in Huntsville, Utah (just east of Ogden). It's the oldest bar in Utah, built in 1865. It sits smack dab among great deer, elk, moose and grouse hunting. It also attracts trout fishermen, boaters, skiers and bikers of both pedal and motor persuasion. They have a mounted Saint Bernard that used to be a pet there, and the "world famous" Shooting Star Burger that combines a burger and a knockwurst in a bun. Belch.

If you like stuffed critters on the wall - you won't find many places like Ole's Big Game Bar in Paxton, NE.....Ole's

I've been known to frequent a few watering holes in the past.
The Victoria hotel in whitehorse - great little bar if'n you like to pound em back with old hippie draft dodgers.
The Mint Bar on main st Sheridan Wy. - Drinkin with cowboys is always fun.
Tha Apollo piza in Finland Mn - great piza, great grouse hunting, cold beer.
Theres a joint in yellowpine ID (pop 23 ). that was fun back in the day.
Took the locals a while to warm up to a guy with Mn plates, but after a while and more than a few beers I became one of the family.
It's burnt down now but the BirdCage so of Portage AK was always a fun spot. The owner grew up here in northern mn and he remembered me from our hockey days.

I visited the Birdhouse on more than 1 occasion, had the exwife call in a ptarmigan with the magical "horn", had the whole bar rolling!

It's too bad it burned down, that was an iconic bar, but it was a fire just waiting to happen.

The Kro Bar in Brule, Wisconsin. It's fun to check out the buckboard after a tough day in da nortwoods & the cast of characters during hunting season is something to behold. Good bloody marys and burgers, too. Not a lot of "Save the wolves" shirts in there.. cool
