Really hate to let this one go, but....

It's a gem.

Remington Model 25, in .25-20.

The Model 25 was only made from 1923 to 1935, with only 33,000 being manufactured. Most of those were in the larger .32-20. There were less than 12,000 ever made in this configuration. This one's SN is 28xx, so it's pre-Depression era, and impeccably well made.

24" barrel, standard grade.

It's all original. The crack in the stock has been professionally repaired by a master carpenter using industrial strength epoxy injected into the crack with a veterinary needle and then clamped tight. Other than that, you can see the condition. For a rifle that's nearly 90 years old, it's in great shape; hunted and shot, but never abused.

It shoots very, very well. Weighs 5.5#, all up, with 10 in the magazine, and points/handles like a dream.

Dies, brass, bullets, and ammo come with it, so it's ready to go. Makes a phenomenal "tramping around" gun, and for youngsters and new shooters, it's almost too much fun. Small game, varmints, turkeys, all should hate it. Javelina might have been made specifically for this rifle (or, vice versa).

$1,000, shipped and insured to your FFL.

No trade interests. And, this price ain't going down much, if at all, so if you're hedging, well...

These are about the best walking around rifles ever made. Wish I had the cash.

That is a rare one right there, and in a cool caliber.

I have one just like it that I received from a great friend many years ago. It is one of the sweetest little take-downs you will ever find. Somebody needs this for their grandkid!

It's not the destination...

I have one of these, can't describe how handy it is to carry and shoot. If I had the cash I would have two of them.
Brass and dies are easy to find as well.
