Nice "walkabout" rifle for sure !
Hey NSAQAM, Larry is very "IN", LOL You also dishonor the 28th division by using the unit patch as an insult. As for the liar, welcher Bricktop, his day is fast approaching. Coward trolls won't accept PMs. How's the phantom "campfire" coming ?

I have a Remington 600 222 and a 1963 700 carbine 20" 222 and they are fun to shoot and hunt with. A model 7 222 would be sweet. Nice lite carry coyote / varmint rifle for sure. Wish I could log in to their web site.

I just ordered a Model 7 in .223 that should arrive in the next few days. I have similar ideas for its use as a walk-about rig. The .223 is far more practical, what with the availability of inexpensive ammo, but there's no denying the cachet of having a M7 in .222!
I was hoarding when hoarding wasn't cool.

I was at Grice's last weekend and saw some of these. In theory, it sounds great, but I thought they were a little too gawdy with the maple stocks.

I had my FFL Dealer call them yesterday (Monday) and inquire about the Model 7 222. It seems they have 3 grades of these rifles. Don't know what the difference other then price. Grade III, Grade V and Grade VIII. They were sold out of Grade III's so I told my Dealer to order me a Grade V. My cost will be $799.00. I will remove the Maple Stock and mount the action in a McMillan. Save the wood for when and if I ever sell the rifle. There are 2 Grade V rifles right now on gunbroker and both have a bid of $900.00 and if both sell at that price the seller will profit $100.00 on the sale according to my dealer.

Can't stay in business if you don't turn a profit ! If those guns were bought from Grice ( exclusive distributer ) for $799 and sell them for $900 there's no $100.00 profit after shipping , taxes and such . If there was a $100.00 profit , that would be a whole 12.5% , which is pretty slim to begin with . The M7 in .223 makes way more sence than .222 !

Remington did chamber the 222 in the Model Seven back in the late 80's/early 90's. Friend of mine had one years ago.

See it now. Looks nice.
Those early run 222s are relatively rare and bring an upscale price.
