Anyone used RW Snyder for a chamber job or built? His website says he'll true a 700 and install a barrel for $250. He said it was a single point re-cut including the threads. Thinking about giving him a try.

I had him true a Rem 700 action, install and chamber a Krieger barrelin .243. I sent him the parts. I received it back, bedded it into a HS Precision stock. No complaints, shoots 1/2 MOA at 100 yds., I have not stretch it out past 200 yet.

Yes. Robert screwed together a 223ai for me a couple years back on a Remmy action with a lightweight Brux barrel. His work was very good. No complaints at all from me. I don't know if you can find a better price around for a single point truing and barrel install.

my most accurate rifle is a Snyder/Brux M700 in .223 AI.

i love all of my .223 AIs.

my last two (a M7 and Kimber) were done at by Arnold at Capitol Sports, but were just set back and punched factory tubes. absolutly no issues with these. they both shoot better than before, and are chambered identical so neck sized brass from either can be used in the other. i also bought a SS Ruger MKII in .223 AI at a gun show that was also punched AI by Arnold at Capitol Sports. i think highly of him and his work.

but a 12#+ .223 with a 1-8" Brux barrel sets the bar high for sheer accuracy from the bags.

The verdict is still out on my pac nor it&d 223 ai. I'm still trying to find a load it will shoot consistently. It's been shooting probably 1.25 moa on average but sometimes it's shot 1/2 moa just not real often. I need to have the firing pin hole bushed cause as soon as I get pressures up a bit I pierce primers. Light rifles are hard to shoot well so some of it may be me but I took my 5 pound 12 ounce 260 that I put together myself out last time as a check and was consistantly .5 moa with it and 1.5 moa with the 223 AI.

Weird thing is that one day after several pierce primers with the 223 ai groups really started coming together and I I shot 4 groups in a row under 3/4 moa but had a few light primer strikes that failed to fire. Got the gun home and took the pin and spring out of the bolt and there were a few primer cup pieces stuck in there. They were limiting pin protrusion and lightening the strike but it seemed to help groups come together. I'm planning on sending the bolt to gre-tan to get the hole bushed and with have him change the pin out for one of his lighter ones. Maybe my heavy strikes are bouncing the light gun just enough to blow my groups a bit.

I just shoot from a Harris bi pod and rear bag so I'm not always a 1/2 moa shooter. I haven't given up on the 223 AI yet but bedding it and floating the barrel didn't seem to make a lot of difference. The worst group with it so far has been about 2 moa and the best has been around .3. If I can get a load that runs the 75 amax consistantly under .75 I'll be happy.
