It's me again Margaret.....

Can anyone tell me what a star crossed kitten is?

I found a stray kitten in the weeds behind the Piggly Wiggly (while walking my dog) this morning. From what I can gather on the internet, I guestimate it's no more than 3 weeks old. Nothing but skin, bones, and a lot of hair.

Refernces from the internet mention star crossed kittens, but nothing explains what it means.

It's eyes look underdeveloped, but isn't this normal in very young kittens and pups?

I'm taking it to my vet in the morning, but I knew somebody here could answer my question before then.

Thanks so much :-)

Star-crossed puppies and kittens or runts that did not receive an adequate diet. These are often strays and foundlings whose mother subsisted on whatever scraps she could find. Deficiencies in taurine, arginine, histidine methionine and phenylalanine have all been associated with cataract formation in young animals.

My wife brought home two of them 'bout a month ago. I thought they were mangy until we all got circular shaped sores. They tried milk our Tom (we were shocked he tolerated the humiliation and abuse). I figured them for a month old. Now they are at least double in size and the most trouble finding kittens in the world. Their claws are sharper than my caping knife and they like to use them to shoot up people's legs. I wonder if there is a market for kitten acupuncture. They like to [bleep], ahem sit on my shoulder and purr in stereo.
