Given the old 54 was in an M-S, I cannot figure why a 54, 55, 260, or Creemoor is not in the RSI.

Wouldn't mind one in 6.5x55, throated for 160 RN bullets. Somehow seems potentially classic to me.

6.5x55 or 6.5x54. I wouldn't have the least bit of interest in any metrosexual bullshit like the .260 Remington or 6.5 Creedmoor.

How about a 6.5-284?

I've got one and it is a sweetie.

Easy to load and easy to shoot.

And kills stuff quickly.

Since my 1-A in 6.5x54 is almost complete, It's about time for Ruger to come out with that chambering... At least that's what usually happens when I do a custom #1.

But then if they did an RSI in the x54 I'd likely buy one anyway. Just because! But it's gonna pi$$ me off if they steal my thunder.

Having never seen an RSI in person - what is the barrel
contour like? Thinner than 1A? Wondering what is the biggest
bore it could take. They've never made over .30, right?

Speaking of wall thickness, have not had a chance to measure
it or even mess with it much, but the little double rifle

I've never been a fan of the ".260 Remington," its assh*le "inventor" or any of the sycophantic, ass-kissing fanboys touting its praises. It offers no discernible improvement over the 7mm-08 and absolutely no incentive for me to expend a nickel or lift a finger to even sign a 4473 to buy one. Same goes for the 6.5 Creedmoor.

Then there's also the whole short action concept: why bother with short action rounds, save for the .22 centerfires, in a single shot platform? Might as well go with a 6.5x55, 6.5x57, 6.5x54 or a .256 Newton/6.5-06.

Bricktop, loved my Swede K1A....but also enjoy my new custom 260....they do 'Same-Same' work, recoil, blast, etc.

Both pleasant, accurate, deadly, can tell no difference in killing power, owned many 7/08s in the past, but have a slight reduction in recoil via a drop in bullet weight albeit keeping BC about the same.

My 'bulkiest/heaviest' #1 was a Custom via Pac-Nor, 6BR, 1V contour run out to 26", shot a group UNDER 1/2"....at 330 yds! Funny stuffing a pipsqueak round into that action, but the deer I dropped at 400 yds never said a word about it! Dropped within 25 yds of impact.

All rounds work well when used right, no doubt. Enjoy whatever you wish, and Merry Christmas to you sir.

Negligible. At best. Hardly worth the while. Still would not waste any time or effort chambering a short action cartridge in a single shot the size of a No. 1.

It's very small, but it's there, being a Looney I suppose one gets very critical of even the small details.

No doubt, not much one can't do w/the current factory chamberings made now...a 7x57 and 270 are on a future list of 'Items of Interest'

A 9.3 had my interest in the past...could again if in a handy package.

I simply prefer 6.5 bullets b/c of the choices to handloaders...not hard to find an accurate deadly bullet w/great bc/sd. What a 6.5 can do, so can a 7 but as you go UP in bullet size, I think one loses the niceties of light bullets w/good bc as caliber grows....assuming one wants a dual use rifle. If not, it's a non - issue.

That said, a 7 has many choices but not as broad in varmint wt. bullets.

I figured the 6.5x55 RSI #1 would be the next step after the M77 and the #1A. I'd be interested in one.
