dip the iron in batter then into oil?

Heat up the iron in the oil, dip in batter and submerge in hot oil....Then on to a piece of paper to cool before adding powdered sugar...

Mom makes about 20 different Christmas cookies every year, but the rosettes were always my favorite. I really need to find a set of irons.

They are timbale irons ...... I have a nordic double set. They are fun and yummy.
