I realize we often frown on posting live auctions but I seriously doubt I am going to spoil anyone's plans here. I know this is a desirable model but the seller's pricing seems a bit optimistic?

I wouldn't pay a dollar more than $1275.

No, they were nicer. But every auction is different.

It's an odd starting price.

It does appear a bit on the high side -- at best, it is at the top end for a .380 m1915 in this condition. I also always worry when I can't see that the mag is actually a m1915 mag; too often these come with m1907/1915 mags, and m1915 mags tend to sell for $100+, when you can find them.

On the other hand, Savage pistol prices have gone up significantly (but not consistently) the last few years, and the .380 m1915 is the rarest model. But I still wouldn't pay more than the starting price for this, and am not sure I'd even go there (but I already have two .380 m1915s, both in better condition, so don't feel the pressure of trying to fill a hole in a collection).

I think the starting price is optomistic, but not outrageous.

The pics of the cartridge indicator look strange to me, is there one there or not? Looks like it may be broken.

Wonder if you can dremel out the hole for the slide stop on a regular 1907 mag?

There definately is a loaded chamber indicator, but the tip of the arm looks a little short, which could be normal variation (the tip just folds under) or broken off.

The 1915 mag is a modified 1907 mag, so it is possible to open up the side of the body for the tab on the 1915 follower, which is what trips the slide stop.

When I have the time, I want to try modding some aftermarket 1907/1917 mags to 1915 form. While 1907/1917 factory mags are much more common than 1915 mags, they are still hard enough to find (and expensive enough) that I hate to experiment on them.
