I ended up with a spare 6.5mm 1-9 barrel from another project so I'm trying to decide what to do with it.

I already have a 15lb 6.5x47 lapua and a Ruger #1 in 260 Remington.

Ideally I'd like a 1-8 twist to work with but since I have a 1-9, I'll deal with it.

I was thinking of building a light'ish weight rifle for hunting. Neither of my other 6.5 rifles are really that light.

I had considered building a 260i but there are just too many issues to deal with (expensive dies, fireforming, internal mag feeding issues, etc).

With a 1-9 twist, do you think I'll have problems shooting the lighter (and shorter) 6.5 bullets (100gr, 107gr or 120gr.)?

You'll be able to shoot up to 130 grain bullets without any issues. One of my .260's is a 1-9" and shoots 123 scenars and 130gr VLD's very well.

Luck....is the residue of design...
