Google "coon cuffs". I believe thats what that is. A dog proof coon trap.

Thank you Rooster7 You made my day.
Glad I could help! Do you have racoons over there or do you have some other critter you're after?

Monkey, and lots of them, lost tons of maize. Well if I can get a proper drawing, I would be able to make a few of these coo....er.. monkey cuffs.

That made laugh out loud. I got a vision of your version of Daniel Boone in a monkey skin cap!
When you don't see monkeys, other than a rare trip to a zoo, you just never think of them as being destructive pests. But I can see how they could destroy crops if left unchecked.

Me too,..he said "across the pond". I thought,..they've got Monkeys in Great Britain now.?..
Had to go back and re-read....
Here's a close-up of a coon cuff variety. Should be easy to make some "Monkey Cuffs" from the looks of it...

Never be sorry for giving someone a chuckle. Not a mocking chuckle. A genuine "thats funny as heck" chuckle.
Good luck catchin your monkeys and post pics!

It's a dog proof, but not a coon cuff.....it's a duke dog proof, more similar to the little griz. Here's a link on how to use them:
