Spend some time in Texas and the Midwest & you'll see more Dodges pulling heavy than anything else. That should tell you something...... Something about Dodges or something about Texans? Well, your reply tells me something about you.......

Living smack in the middle of oil field country, I see more Fords than anything else. Each area is different.

Coobie
That`s good to hear My 04 F150 barely gets 16 mpg so the 250 won`t be too much different.

i bought a Chevy in 07 because i didn't want to deal with the ford gas motor, now i not sure the ford has a lot going for it mostly not being GM and yes my 6.0 Gas would out pull and get better mileage then my buddy with the 5.4 F250 Ford doesn't have the 5.4l anymore. Your 6.0 won't out tow it or get better MPG anymore if everthing is same/same.

Ford. Easy answer. The Super Duty has a solid front axle and is built to work. GM has that poor IFS setup that just doesn't cut it on a truck that is used for work. Dodge is just that, a Dodge.
GM and Dodge were both bailed out by the government. Both companies cheated the taxpayers of the country.

Dodge paid Uncle Sugar back. GM doesn't have to. E Off subject yes, but since several have brought it up. That is my understanding too E, Dodge paid back the money they borrowed. Yes, they took bail out money, but at least they paid it back.

My last 4 trucks have been Fords (all 2 wheel drive) I`m looking for a 4 wheel drive for towing a toy hauler I`m really liking the looks of the Chevy 2500 over the F250. But the Ford will tow more. What`s your preference? If you're towing and especially if there's mountainous terrain or any kind of grades, don't even mess with gasoline. Get a diesel, you'll enjoy driving and especially towing with it a lot more. About which one.....some of the posts on here are ignorant and flatout wrong. Best to drive them and judge for yourself.

Dodge paid Uncle Sugar back. GM doesn't have to. E No way did Chrysler, aka Fiat, pay the government back all of the money. They still OWE $2 BILLION in taxpayer dollars. They are no different than government motors, except that Fiat is a a foreign company. Both companies robbed the taxpayers money and didn't pay it back. "Repayment of the loans will still leave U.S. taxpayers about $2 billion short. Treasury might recoup some of that money when the automaker holds its initial public offering either later this year or early next year. Treasury currently owns 8.6% of Chrysler's privately held shares, while the Canadians own 2.2%." Link to article: http://money.cnn.com/2011/04/28/news/companies/chrysler_loan_repayment/index.htm

I'll keep buying pre-bailout GMs before I drive a Ford. mtmuley I took all of the IFS 4x4 front end parts that I had left over from my pre-bailout gm trucks and took them to the junkyard. There was quite a bit of scrap value in all of the worn out idler arms, tie rod ends, shocks, ball joints and cv axles.
