Its my good fortune to own a straight-stocked 336 in .30-30 ('70's model called the "Cowboy" at the time IIRC).
The rifles is clean and a previous owner had installed a William's (5D??)peep. Sadly, them sights have grown fuzzy over the years.
Now it wears a Burris 2 3/4 X Scout Scope on an XS Lever Scout mount and suddenly I can shoot again
I'd like it better though with a taller comb.
All the lace-on cheek rests I have seen appear to use the pistol grip swell of most stocks to keep the cheek piece from slipping forward when laced on.
Anyone know of any detachable cheek rests designed to fit a straight-stock?
Thanks.
