6x36 swarovski on mine. Seems to be about perfect for me.

My Whelen has worn several different scopes in the past 3 decades but the 2.5x Leupold with a HD is staying.

Does anyone besides Warne make QD rings for the Ruger 77?

My FN Mauser 98 9.3x62 wears a trijicon tr21 1.25-4x24. I am cross eye dominant (left eye, right finger) and can acquire my target with both eyes open with my non-dominant eye. It is extremely fast. I have had zeiss (3-9x), Leupold (2-7x), and swaro (1-6x) on the same rifle. The trijicon is by far the fastest because it has the 'lit' reticle during low light situations. It is my favorite thus far.

I had that scope with the amber reticle on my Wilson 6.8 AR but unless I find another deal like I found with tha tone (a LNIB scope with Larue QD mount for under $500 for both!) I won't be putting it on there.

I do like the looks of Dougs show deal on the Minox Z5 1.5-8x32 with the #4 reticle for $399. For that price I don't see how I can go wrong.

Much depends on type of hunting you do. I looked for versatile scope with large FOV and long eye relief plus magnifying reticle for shooting in less light. I picked Khales Helia 1,5-6x42. The closeout price also helped with my decision. Quite honestly since Nikon Monarch and Zeiss Conquest came out I no longer pay attention to Leupold products.
