I have seen them in the catalogs and recently saw one at a dealer. Just wondering what they are like in the feild. The one I saw was 300 Win Mag with a Nightforce Scope.

TMK it's only carried as a .300WM, and guaranteed MOA accuracy out to 600 yards. Probably like a heavy Sako in the field, I'd imagine. Pick up a CZ550 American, and make it "Match Grade", that's more or less the UHR. AFAIK...

I have a 550 "Premium" in 270 win, real tack driver...not sure how it compares to the UHR. If I remember right it was advertised as "match fitted from hand selected components" other than that it looks pretty much just like a 550 "American". Great gun with a really great trigger.

Has anyone ever handled one of these at the range or in the field? Just wondering how well the "match fitted from hand selected components" with the Nightforce on it shoots.

Well mine has a Weaver Grand Slam, a little on the heavy side but I'm a pretty fair sized guy. 200 yards is as far as I've shot it, that's farther than any clear shot I'll get where I hunt. At that range you can cover 5 holes with a dime if I do my part.

Thought I'd bring this to the top just to see if I can get some feedback on this CZ.

when these came out the reviews in the gun rags were very positive and I like both the concept and the execution.
A plain vanilla CZ in whatever caliber is a wonderful hunting rifle with lots to recomend it. Controlled round feed Mauser action, good safety, Wonderful set trigger, fixed blade ejector, claw extractor, classic styling and looks, and generally every one of them that I have heard of was a very good accurte shooter with good to excellent QC. If someone was looking for ONE rifle that could do anything and everything short of the big two in Africa I would suggest that this rifle would be on a very short list of excellent choices.
If you have a shot at one, like it, and can afford it this rifle could easily replace every other gun in your safe short of your varmint and DGR rifle(s).

Did they finally get away from the plastic followers? I remember when they first started using them the CZ fans went ballistic!
