More thanks to those who continue to contribute! I just got back from another convoy, this one was three days and I am beat! I spent about 40 hours in the driver's seat this time around. Not being able to move for that long is a bit painful for this 38-year-old. crazy

I got to push an Afghani tractor-trailer rig up over an icy pass though. (Literally - drove up, bumped his trailer and pushed for a couple of miles.) That at least made the trip interesting. wink

Thanks again everyone, time for a shower and sleep! sleep

I can't believe that I missed this for almost a month.

Anyway, if it's not too late I would like to contribute. I have a check and a box of .35 bullets just waiting for a PM on where to send.

Glad to help. donsm70

Okay Gang...

here is the update on Veteran Candidate Number one: Matt

1. A new Marlin XL 7 is in hand.
2. in the hands of a gunsmith who is going to complete the project
3. Barrel is now being waited for
4. Scope Requested in now in hand.
5. Need to line up a set of rings, which I should get done today.
6. When entire project is done, the action and barrel will be cerekoted.

when Matt gets back from convoy duty, we have a few preference questions to ask him..so this one is now on the way to coming together. the pixy dusty is circulating.. to use a Disney metaphor.

Okay, since last update, this week have received;

1. box of Nosler partitions from tjk..
Donations from:

1. S.G., Gainesville FL
2. AL Lake Elmo MN
3. "D.P", Colorado Springs CO
4. D.J. Green River WY..

thanks for the support.. according to PMs, there are still more expected to be received...

every thing but the work and waiting for the barrel should be done for Matt's gift of gratitude...

have some things in the Mill for Brent's Project...

rings and bases have been secured and should be on the way..
working on a couple of options on an action or might have something else, requiring less work in the long run..so that is still pending.. barrel is lined up if one is needed..

thanks to all who are supporting our 24 hour campfire presents for our 2 Vets...

oh and PS, a fellow Guard Member of Matt's is also donating a years membership to the local range up there in Wasilla...

Well I don't know about a lifetime of reloading components... but you definitely will have enough to line up a couple of houses with a lifetime supply of bear skin rugs... grin

I might do that eventually. My affinity for the '06 may have me building a collection of rifles in all it's various off-spring calibers someday. The Whelen comes first though. wink
