Sometime you just have to buy what your pocket book dictates

Anybody know why it is that when an inexpensive scope breaks, it' because "you bought a cheap P.O.S"., but when pricey Euro optics crash, it's just a shoulder shrug and "schit happens"?

Hmmmmmmmmm, your friend made a gesture of appreciation for your time spent in the workshop and you in turn took a hammer to it because it didn't meet your lofty standards.
IMHO,you're an ungrateful [bleep] azzhole that doesn't deserve friends. I'll wager you even checked the price.

It is preferable to have your mother, wife, and daughters as the top revenue producers at the local whorehouse than to use a Simmons rifle scope. Well if all of that were true, then you could afford a better scope than a Simmons... You do have a point. With a revenue stream like that I could afford Schmidt and Bender scopes for all my rigs.

Simmons 2-7 on Savage 9.3x62. Before it was painted, dipped and moved, it spent a lot of time on a 7 pound 35 whelen getting shot and up and down the mountains in a saddle scabbard. Never a hiccup, and when put side by side in V blocks looking at an optical color and definition chart at 200 yards was just as good as a Loopie M8 or a current Weaver K model. Love my Trijicons, Night Forces, Kahles, Zeiss and Schmidts but this is 75% as good optically 100% as rugged and 1/5 to 1/10 the price.
Hey NSAQAM, Larry is very "IN", LOL You also dishonor the 28th division by using the unit patch as an insult. As for the liar, welcher Bricktop, his day is fast approaching. Coward trolls won't accept PMs. How's the phantom "campfire" coming ?

I've had 2 simmons scopes, but neither were Aetecs. They both broke after maybe 50 rounds. One was on a .270 and the crosshairs rattled loose. The other was on a rifle that I can't think of at the time, and it became so blurry I threw it away.
They very well could make great scopes but I was not impressed with the two I had and now only go with leupys since I have never had an issue with them.

I"m sure there are good and bad of everything... my first Zeiss something broke inside on the first shot.... but I still use and buy them as often as I can.
The first Simmons I used, the front glass fell out on about the 5th shot of a 7 rem mag. Then next I could never focus completely but it would zero and hold. The low light ability sucked bad.
But they are what they are. I own tasco still to this day, I will not own a simmons though.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

Thanks guys,
This has been a fun thread. I just went to my reloading room and looked at the scope that started this thread. Looks pretty good on the Benelli. I think it's a keeper.
Thanks, Dale.
